Leading talent management Jason Williamson Management (JWM) has just signed three hot young stars to its impressive roster for 2020 – international curve model Hayley Hasselhoff, celebrity magician Apollo Jackson and Aboriginal male model Jony Berry.
Hayley Hasselhoff has been an in-demand curve model since she was 14. She has walked in shows for British Plus Size Fashion Week, is an ambassador for Paris’s Pulp Fashion Week and recently starred in the UK campaign for fashion site Simply Be.
As well as modelling, the 27-year-old is known for her acting and commentating work. Having played the part of Amber in the series Huge, she recently nabbed a role in a new TV drama for US network CBS, Why Women Kill, alongside Lucy Liu. A proud advocate for body positivity, talkback show Strahan, Sara & Keke, which airs on the US ABC network, has also appointed Hayley their curve style host. In the UK Hayley provides fashion tips on ITV’s This Morning and writes for UK fashion bible Marie Claire.
Apollo Jackson first exploded onto Aussie TV screens in 2017 as one of the contestants on The Bachelorette. As one of the most charming suitors on Sophie Monk’s season, the good-natured hunk was placed second runner up. He soon became one of the nation’s most notable new personalities and also starred in 2018’s Bachelor in Paradise.
Already a world-class magician Apollo, 26, is also a talented multi-instrumentalist and vocalist. Dubbed as Australia’s answer to Dynamo, Apollo has since made countless media appearances and also put his talent at mentalism to the test, by predicting live on radio the 2016 Melbourne Cup trifecta a week before the event! Apollo’s close up magic shows, death-defying escapes and large-scale illusions continue to entertain and enthral audiences bringing a whole new dynamic to Australian entertainment.
Model, actor and comedian Jony Berry, has been creating waves ever since he burst onto the scene several years ago as one of Australia’s most successful Aboriginal male models. Sporting Lutruwita (Tasmanian Aboriginal) and Portuguese heritage on his mother’s side, Melbourne-based Jony has modelled in New York and took out the title of Mr World Australia in 2019.
The 24-year-old went onto represent the nation at Mr World International in the Philippines. Proud of his cultural roots, Jony chose to wear a robe displaying the Aboriginal flag with message “free the flag” but was asked to remove it by organisers who viewed it as being too political, creating international headlines. Jony also studied acting at NIDA (National Institute of Dramatic Arts) before landing a part in the 2020 feature film Dash Board Dogs. With an aim to also branch into comedy, he was one of the stand-outs from Melbourne’s Hard Knocks’ Comedy workshops.
JWM also represents the new voice of our generation, Mitch Tambo, who won the hearts of the nation when he performed the John Farnham classic, You’re the Voice securing him a place in the 2019 grand finale of Australia’s Got Talent. With a style that blends traditional sounds and language with modern contemporary beats and rhythms, the music of Mitch, who is a proud Gamilaraay man, cuts across cultures. His debut album, Guurrama-Li, landed in the iTunes Top 200 Australia World Music Chart at #1; reached #2 on the iTunes Top 200 United Kingdom World Music Chart; #34 on the iTunes Top 200 United States of America World Music Chart; and the #2 spot on the iTunes Top 200 Australia All Genre chart.
“I am really excited to be working with such a talented group of amazing contemporary artists across a number of diverse fields and territories,” said Jason Williamson. “The industry has changed and the management direction and style we are adopting reflects this.
“Each of our clients are committed to using their voice to advocate for change and to continue positive and meaningful conversations around topics they’re passionate about. I am proud JWM will be supporting them on their creative and advocacy journeys. With so many exciting projects in the pipeline, it’s going to be an incredible 2020 and beyond.”
